The Ruby Labyrinth edition is one of the rarest and most sought-after Kialara releases. Originally, the entire Labyrinth series was intended to feature custom lab-created rubies—optically identical to natural stones and precision-crafted by Meller Optics into perfect spheres for the dexterity puzzle. However, the resulting rubies leaned more pink than red, prompting a shift in direction.
During production of the first batch, a decision was made to pivot. Silver and ceramic balls were introduced instead, each offering unique visual and tactile qualities. As a result, only twenty Ruby Labyrinths were ever completed, each bearing serial numbers 01/250 through 20/250 and dated 2015.
Each was individually auctioned and ultimately claimed by dedicated collectors within the Kialara community—adding to the edition’s mystique and cementing its place as a cornerstone of the series.
